Fixitology helps businesses of all sizes understand, plan for and get into Social Media. In addition Mike has successfully developed names for a startup social media company (SayItSocial.com) and LinkedIn trainer (SirLinkedaLot). Worked with Rochester’s professional basketball team the RazorSharks to improve the entertainment value and attendance at home games. He is currently working with clients and potential clients in media, higher education, advertising, training and the hospitality industry.
Rochester Social Media Speakers Bureau - Founder
Current - (Organizes credible Social Media seminars for groups of all sizes)
The Social Media Speakers Bureau was created at the request of several Rochester-area businesses looking for credible and intelligent presentations on Social Media. The Bureau is currently working with Visit Rochester on a July 30 event (Social Media RX) primarily targeting the hospitality industry but open to all businesses interested in exploring the basics of Social Media and how they might help their bottom line.

Insider – Founding Editor/GM
February 2004 - August 2008
Researched, developed and launched the print (insider) and online edition (rochesterinsider.com) of a product targeting those in their 20s and early 30s that served more than 80,000 readers each week in Rochester, N.Y. Responsible for developing content, online initiatives and marketing to grow the audience with dotted line over advertising efforts to grow revenue for the Democrat and Chronicle product. Member of company wide Innovation and Quality teams. Grew revenues year over year and used Social Media to greatly extend insider’s reach with MySpace and Facebook pages.
Prior experience
- Online News Editor at DemocratandChronicle.com. Produced daily news and multimedia on Rochester's largest Web site. Coached others and introduced new Web-writing style.
- News Editor/Features at Democrat and Chronicle. Managed copy desk and designers for daily features section of a metropolitan newspaper. Planned content and coached junior staff.

- MA in Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University
- Completed "Integrated Online Strategies" program at the University of San Francisco
- Work experience in United States, Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
- Winner of a Knight Foundation Fellowship to UC-Berkeley and two fellowships (in Media Ethics and Design) to the Poynter Institute (St Petersburg, Fla.)
